MEET OUR FOUNDER

DR. PETER HERCULES, M.D.

Dr. Hercules is a medical doctor and specialist in Emotional System Dysfunctions who has developed an innovative methodology for achieving emotional fitness, informed by his 40+ year medical career spanning behavioral, family, and emergency room medicine.

Board-certified in Family Medicine in the USA and Canada, Dr. Hercules saw from early in his career that emotional distress plays a profound role in many medical conditions – both behavioral and physical. He’s also witnessed first-hand the severe limitations of the common resources and approaches available to doctors and patients alike to address this critical issue. 

Motivated by a mission to overcome this gap in the wellness ecosystem, Dr. Hercules has dedicated his career to cultivating a deep expertise in the root causes of emotional health issues.

Through this process, Dr. Hercules has developed a methodology and emotional fitness practice based on his core findings:

While many emotional health and wellness approaches are focused on managing and coping with these triggered feelings of distress, Dr. Hercules has spent tens of thousands of hours developing his own methodology, called Emotional Updating – an analytical, algorithmic, non-pharmacological mental technique that works with the unconscious mind to address and resolve triggered emotional responses at the root, forgoing the need for coping strategies altogether.

Since putting this methodology into practice in 1987, it has been used by countless patients in Dr. Hercules’ medical practice to successfully address issues stemming from low self-worth, ranging from addiction and depression to anxiety and psychosomatic disorders. 

Now with the Vivir Emotional Fitness Institute, Dr. Hercules combines the Emotional Updating technique with a comprehensive emotional fitness program that allows people to go beyond simply addressing acute emotional health disorders, and instead take a proactive, empowered approach to developing a sustainable emotional fitness practice for life.
